Max Parsel, twice winner Grand Slam in the double, was punished by an 18-month-old blockade for violating anti-doping rules, as announced today (29/04) by the International Tennis Service (ITIA).
The 27 -year -old tennis player admitted that he violated the regulations through the use of a “forbidden method”, as he received intravenous injection of vitamins in a quantity exceeding the permitted 100 ml threshold within 12 hours.
According to him, he had informed the clinic that he was a professional athlete and had requested that the quantity be within the limits, but was twice under injection of more than 500 ml at the end of 2023.
ITIA stressed that Parsel’s full cooperation during the investigation contributed to a 25%reduction in his sentence. Its blockade is valid since December 16, 2023 and will be completed on June 11, 2026, taking into account the already estimated temporary suspension.
The Australian champion also loses all the results and money prizes he won from the date of the first violation to the provision of a negative doping sample on February 3, 2024.
At the same time, he is forbidden to participate in any racing activity under the auspices of ITIA members.
