The Hellenic Basketball Association of Basketball Federation has denounced the Hellenic Basketball Federation for the non -implementation of sports law with a statement issued.
She points out that in the last two years, with her actions she has depreciated the work and role of the Greek coach.
The main reason is the fact that under the GSC decision only SEP can issue a coach identity card, but- in essence- the EEC has not taken into account.
In detail the complaint:
‘Honorable Mr Deputy Minister,
SEPK It denounces the Hellenic Basketball Federation for the last two years, and especially in the last year, its actions, which, in violation of Law 2725/99 as amended today, are aimed at depreciating and degrading the coach’s work and the sport itself, and in particular:
In accordance with article 31 par. 4 of Law 2725/99:
“The coaching association of the sport or, if not, the relevant athletic federation issues coaching card (ICT) to those who have been registered in the Electronic Coach Register, held in the GGA, in accordance with par. access to the racing site. ”
– The Hellenic Basketball Federation, about two years ago, through its own electronic platform, registered as a coach of any of them submitted elements through this platform (without checking if it was indeed a person who had the relevant qualifications) and through the same platform ” Games and in the event of non -occupation that the team’s technical guidance in the race will not be found in the coach.
Following a document of the SEPK At the General Secretariat of Sport, the GSC sent to the EEC document according to which only the SEPK. can issue a coach identity card and any other document is illegal.
– The Hellenic Basketball Federation, in the announcements of its championships for the 2025-2026 season, does not provide for the coaching of the coach card and its submission to legitimize coaches in the races. Already, of course, in practice, it had “abolished” the control of the coaching card since its audit bodies had no directives for this audit and did not request the coach’s bulletin in the matches or during the previous season.
Specifically, while in the special announcement of the EEC of the year 2024-2025 (Article 7) it was foreseen to present the coaching cards to the stakeholders by the coaching tasks in the matches, in the special notice of the year 2025-2026 there is no reference to the Coach and the Coach.
It is very sad that the federation of the sport depreciates the sport, to allow, without control, to anyone who appears as a coach, to despise the law and to “invent” ways to bypass SEPK. And what the law defines.
It should be noted that in no other federation of team sport this is the case. In all team sports, the coaches link the coach’s card and, in collaboration with the corresponding federation of the sport, work together to control the card in the races and implementing the law.
SEPK It denounces the EEC’s approaches not to implement sports law and expects the state to protect the legislative legislation.
