Following the meeting of EuroLeague shareholders (19/06), many news emerged, most importantly the curriculum of the new season of the event, as well as the official list of teams to participate in it.
Within all announcements, the top European event announced the changes that will apply to the financial regulations, having put into effect from the 2024 a shot that will gradually apply, for the smoother transition to full application of salary cap From the 2027-28 season.
The most basic changes are that there has been an increase for the minimum budget by the 8 in 10 million euroswhile the players’ contracts that can be excluded from the Anchor Players go up from two to three.

As part of the preparation for the form of the 20 teams and to adjust the existing regulations in the enlarged championship, ECA shareholders have approved several improvements in the Standards of Competitive Balanceconstituting part of the wider frame Financial Stability and Fair Play.
The CBS will be in force by the racing season 2025-26 and will be gradually applied, culminating in full application to 2027-28 racing season:
Basic updates include:
Basic Pay (BRL) level: The minimum amount is set at EUR 10 million net, increased by EUR 8 million net, unless 40% of the average appointed revenue of licensed associations (ALCDR) falls above this threshold.
Anchor Player Exception: The Associations will now have the right to declare up to three Anchor Players under the BRL, increased by two.
Transition Limit Remuneration: Only for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 seasons, the clubs exceeding BRL will face a maximum financial compensation limit of 10% of their players’ total net remuneration for the respective season.
Excluding players with extensive term: The reduction rate increased from 25% to 50%.
These changes are intended to ensure the financial viabilityin promoting the FAIR PLAY and in maintaining the competitive balance as the Euroleague continues its development and evolution
