Pavlenca at sport-fm.gr: “I like PAOK, so I stayed – I don’t compromise with the bench”

Determined to claim and take the position of his basic goalkeeper PAOK presented the Jerry Pavlenca.

Czech goalkeeper talked to Sport-fm.gr and Dimitris Tsorbatzoglou Shortly before completing the team’s preparation in the Netherlands.

He referred to his difficult role in the shadow of Koarsky last year, what was wrong and the “biceps of the north” did not reach higher last season, in the decision to stay in PAOK, in competition with Gougessville, and the challenges of the new period.

-You came late, you got a few games, but PAOK offered you a renewal early. Was it difficult to accept this proposal?

“I came a little late, I talked to the coach. When I came to know that Dominic (Coarsky) is the main goalkeeper, I wanted to support him, but I knew he was looking for something new in his career. I did some games, I was always trying to be ready, whenever the team needed me. At the end of the season I talked to the coach and the technical director about my stay. Having a family and two children, I wanted to have my future secured and a quiet in our lives. I decided to stay, because I like the city, the team and I feel good here. ”

-How was the experience to have to wait and have a few opportunities to show things?

“I was in the Bundesliga for seven years, I had some injuries last year. In the summer I had some other options I could go to play, but I made the decision to come to PAOK. The year rolled as it rolled, but now it’s a different season. We are now fighting our battle for the position of the basic with Gougensville. I’m not so great to compromise with the bench. I want to play and I will try to play. ”

-You came to a PAOK champion, the season didn’t go well. How did you experience the year and why did the team finish Tuesday in the league?

“The team went through a variety of phases. At some point he lost some games in the end, lost points from smaller teams, but in the playoffs the team showed its class. PAOK was a champion when I came, he is one of the biggest teams in Greece and the goals are always the highest. We have to keep the positives we showed in the playoffs, but also see the negatives we had in the previous season. Have it all in our minds to work properly and get into the season properly for our goals. ”

-PAOK players have talked about the great pressure for results …

“It’s not just PAOK, it happens everywhere in football. The same thing happened to Werder I was. There is pressure in football in general. I am learned of it, everywhere happens when you win being a god and hero and when you don’t win you are … zero. ”

-PAOK conceded several phases and several goals last year. What does he think the team did not have such good defensive behavior?

“There were times when we weren’t as concentrated as it should have been. We are a group that has a ball possession and creates phases, but there were some games we received phases in moments of lack of concentration, so we lost points in games we didn’t have to. You need more concentration in these games. ”

-Lutsescu wants possession and control. The goalkeeper obviously plays a role in it. What does the coach tell them about this piece?

“We’re not doing anything different. PAOK is trying to play football and the goalkeeper is part of it. Many times this effort begins with us. ”

-The Greek Championship is some speed. If you were asked about your level from your home country, what would you say?

“Generally it is a good championship, it has quality, it has players with technical virtues, it has four teams with presence in Europe, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK and of course we. The Greek Championship has no big differences from the other leagues behind Europe’s Top 5. There are 4-5 teams playing for the title and the rest have another potential. It is generally a good championship, with quality. “
