Sure for his choice to continue his career at Mykonos AO said the Devin Canadi. The American guard, introduced to the Greek public as a Panion player, is optimistic about the first season of his new team at Stoiximan GBL.
• When you first heard about Mykonos as the next possible station in your career, what was your original reaction?
“Honestly, the first one that went through my mind was,” Don’t everyone go for a party at this time? ” But after my discussions with coach Ziago and the administration and heard their vision of Mykonos, I realized that this was exactly the opportunity I was looking for. ”
• How is it the feeling to be part of an effort that aims to establish Mykonos as a serious basketball destination?
“Success wants time, but within a short time the club has managed to pass from not even having a closed stadium, to compete in the top Greek basketball category. It is my honor to represent the island in every game this year and I feel proud to help build the club’s identity at this level. ”
• How difficult was it to reject suggestions from other markets to come to a team that just first went up to Stoiximan GBL?
“After my first year in Greece with Panionios, I was looking forward to returning for a second. In the end, Mykonos was the place that gave me the opportunity to build on what I learned last year. I look forward to fighting for the island in every race and being competitive every weekend. ”
• Mykonos writes history by participating in Stoiximan GBL. What is the biggest challenge for you on this trip? To win, to lead or to inspire?
“The most important thing is to compete in straight and build an identity that will inspire respect in the league. If we do this, the victories will come on their own. ”
• You have competed in the NBA and the G League. What experiences and elements do you bring to this new environment?
“I’m back to Greece better prepared to play my game as I really know.”
• How much did you affect your decision that Mykonos seems to build something that goes beyond mere participation in the category? That it has a long -term basketball project with a substantial vision?
“The club’s vision of something bigger than this season is perfectly identified with my own personal philosophy. This collaboration came at the right time for both sides. I am really excited and looking forward to starting work on the island. ”
• Do you see yourself as a player who can support this vision? Someone who can inspire other high -level Americans or players to come and become part of it?
“We have a long way to go until May ’26 but then you will have your answer. Mykonos will be a destination in the future that players will ask their agendas to bring them here. ”
• What inspires you the most in this project? The ability to win games or the opportunity to build an organization that can leave a stockpile on an island that now shapes its basketball identity?
“Both. Basketball lasts 40 minutes, but the stockpile lasts a lifetime. I look forward to competing in every match we will play this year and leave our footprint on the island. “
