Alfredo Mechia made the decision to hang his shoes, with people saying goodbye. So did Kalamata, the last team in which he competed in his career.
Indeed, the “Black Storm” announced that by personal decision by the owner George Prassa, Mechia takes over his post Director of Kalamata Academies in the US.

PAE Kalamata feels the need to thank Alfredo Mechia for his contribution to the team in the second half last season.
His passion, his quality, and his character make up the profile of a great footballer and an excellent person, such as Mechia. It is our honor that the last jersey he wore in his career was that of the black storm.
Now, Alfredo will continue to write his own story with Kalamata. We are pleased to announce that he is assuming the role of the Academy Director of Kalamata FC Youth USA (Director of the Kalamata Academies in the US), being a personal choice for our team owner George Prassa.
