Three athletes from OA Chania in Ettu’s training campus in Riga

Another Greek participation in the European Table Tennis Association, another participation in Riga. Three children from OA Chania go to the Latvian capital tomorrow 03/08 to take part in the Eurotalents Select Camp II for 2025. It is held from Monday 04 until Saturday 09/08, targeting boys and girls up to 12 years old and is part of ETU’s annual development program.

Theofanis-Frixos Markoulakis, who was born in 2013, Argiro Koutroumbis in 2014 and Emmanouil Bourolias, also participated in the mission. He had also been in such days at the respective event in Riga with Nikos Alexidis and Markoulakis last year.

Like every year, promising young athletes in Epirus gather. This year’s Latvia will be hosted at the Sports Center of the Elementary School of Folk Art O. Kalpaks in Riga and will have 20 tables. Each ETU member National Federation can declare up to 3 boys and 3 girls (born in 2013 or later) along with their national or personal coaches. Players with the best evaluation will earn an immediate selection in the Eurotalents 2026 program.

Markoulakis is the current Greek champion of Pampa, already performs by such camp and international competitions, and is also preparing for the European Championship under the age of 13. Koutroumba, a Greek mini -in -law in the Mini Pagoras in 2024 and 2025, competed in the Balkan Championships under 11 and under 13 and now will leave for the first time writing samples at an international preparation gathering. A special case is Bourolias, who started the sport just six months ago, belongs to OA Chania and has already shown his talent.

ETTU stresses that top coaches will be responsible for this camp like Vallot Vainula and Zvonimir Korenic, as well as the Tatiana Garnova fitness coach.

The missions will stay at the Hanza Hotel, which is within walking distance of the venue. Participation costs full accommodation and local commutes, with Ettu subsidizing a boy and a girl per federation.
