Marvin Jones: “I followed my heart and returned to my house”

Excited about his return to his PAOK After four years, Marvin Jones said upon his arrival in Thessaloniki on Tuesday morning. The 32 -year -old American center showed it from his first words when he talked about his decision to return to PAOK.

“I wouldn’t say it was easy, but I felt very comfortable with this decision. I just followed my heart and turned back. I returned home. I really felt like I was returning to my house“, Jones said and added:”To be honest, I have played almost everywhere in my career. But here is the best place I’ve played. The comfort I feel, that they will let me be myself. I don’t have to pretend, hide my personality or worry about who I am. I return to an organization I know and know me, so I feel very comfortable about it. It’s a nice feeling”

At the same time he also referred to the possibility of leaving some things in the middle, since he did not complete his previous term in PAOK as originally planned. “It’s my ninth season as a professional, but I feel like I’m 25 years old. I have a lot of internal motivations. I have great respect for the team. I will go out and play loudly every night, I will give my best, no doubt. It’s great to come back, with a new mindset. I have gained many new experiences and now I feel like I am in the best version of myself. Obviously I’ve been through a lot, I’m now a mature player, I’m working very hard. I am ready to have fun and fight”

PAOK’s American center also talked about the atmosphere at the PAOK Sports Arena, which he has lived as a team player and as a opponent. “I heard that about 5,000 tickets have already been sold. This is amazing. Last year we arrived at the finals, I played here again and it was great to see this family again. It wasn’t difficult because I knew what to expect. Intense atmosphere, passionate and strong people. But my mindset is to go out and play. I don’t think about the result. In the summer they called me and they were very persistent because they wanted to come back. It’s a great feeling to feel like they want you. I felt that I was respected and I respect them too and that made my decision easier. So I want to come back, to win. I will do what I can to earn. I have achieved a lot in my career so far, but now all I want is the victory. I’m not interested in statistics. Because when the team wins, you also win personally. As long as the team goes well, I’m satisfied. This is my biggest goal“
