Shock in Germany With the sudden departure of Eric Ten Hag from Leverkusenafter just three games on the team bench. The news became known yesterday, with German champions 2023-24 announcing the end of the cooperation with the Dutch coach.
Ten Hagg was able to guide Leverkusen in a cup game and two Bundesliga matches before the administration decides to remove him.
In his farewell statement, the Dutch technician did not hide his disappointment:
“The decision of the administration came as a complete surprise. Leaving a coach after two league games is unprecedented. This summer several key players have left and creating a new team requires time and trust. Unfortunately, there has never been mutual trust”
Ten Hag also noted that in all his previous jobs he had time to implement his plan and bring successes, something he was not given now. He did not fail, however, to thank the Leverkusen fans for their support and wish the team well.
