George Mantzios will be the new AEK men’s volleyball technician this season. The Amateur Union announced on Saturday the hiring of the Greek technician as a head coach after his tenure as an assistant in the two years 2021-2023.

In detail, the announcement:

“AEK is pleased to announce the launch of its partnership with George Mantzio, who takes over the technical leadership of the club’s men’s volleyball team.

George Mantzios returns to… familiar Limeri, as he was on the AEK bench for two years as an assistant coach (2021-2023), but also as a coach at the academies, even leading K21 to the silver medal in the Panhellenic Championship.

George Mantzio’s assistant will be Chrysanthos Samouilis.

Following the formalization of the deal, George Mantzios told aek.gr: “I am very happy to return to the AEK family, taking over the technical leadership of the men’s volleyball team. AEK is a historic club with rich tradition and unique fans. Thanks to the administration for the confidence it shows me, giving me the opportunity to contribute actively to the team’s goals. The team has significant talent, perspective and ambition.

The Union also announced the acquisition of 28 -year -old central Yiannis Vitta for the following year.

“AEK is pleased to announce the launch of its partnership with Yiannis Vittas. The 28 -year -old (12/11/1997) central, 1.99 meters, signed his contract and returns to the club’s men’s volleyball team.

Yiannis Vittas started the volleyball from Asclepius Trikala, followed by his passage from Pan -Erythra. In the 2016-17 season, he competed for the first time in AEK. He played again in Pan-Eritrea from 2017 to 2019 and the 2020-21 season, while still wearing the jerseys of Agia Paraskevi, Gravas and Keratea.

Following the formalization of the deal, Yiannis Vittas told aek.gr: “I am very happy to return to the AEK family after several years. It is a great honor for me to wear the biceps jersey again. I look forward to contributing with all my might to achieve our goals. Together with my teammates, we will do our best to make the AEK world proud. ”
