The new DS 9 was presented in the Greek market and gives a new meaning to the definition of the premium sedan. With a length of 4.93 meters, a width of 1.93 meters and a height of 1.46 meters, with large wheels with a diameter of 690 mm, the DS 9 is designed to combine dynamism and elegance. It is based on a new version of the EMP2 platform (EMP2 V2.3) with a wheelbase introduced for the first time (2.90 meters), which is of particular benefit to the rear passengers. The DS 9 is a sedan, which continues the design language of DS Automobiles with an expressive front, a mask with a parametric three-dimensional design with diamond effects, which is framed by the DS Wings which is a characteristic design signature of the brand. The lighting of the model is characterized by DS Active Led Vision technology with units that rotate 180 °, with an emphasis on “Pearl” patterns during the day. On the hood, there is a surface with the characteristic finish “Clous de Paris” which refers to a very high watchmaking and it is the first time that this style, which is an “internal signature” for the DS, was used in the exterior design of the vehicle.
The DS 9 will be offered with a hybrid set of E-TENSE plug-in that includes a supercharged PureTech petrol engine and electric motor, displaying a total power of 225 hp, while it is capable of covering 48 km (WLTP) in zero emission mode. With a 11.9 kWh battery, CO2 emissions range between 33 and 35 g / km, depending on the specifications, with a consumption of 1.5 l / 100 km in the combined WLTP cycle. The range of versions is complemented by two more E-TENSE units, one with 250 hp, front-wheel drive and greater autonomy and one with 360 hp with smart four-wheel drive developed specifically for the DS 9 by DS Performance. It is also available with a 225 hp PureTech petrol engine, while all versions of the model are offered with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of technology, among others DS Drive Assist stands out, the DS 9 allows its driver to enjoy level 2 semi-autonomous driving, which allows distances to be covered with the greatest possible comfort for the driver and with improved safety levels. The speed of the DS 9 is controlled according to the environment, as the system uses sensors to place the car exactly in the lane decided by the driver controlling the steering wheel. It remains operational up to 180 km / h (depending on the legislation of the country). DS Drive Assist controls speed and direction, under the supervision of the driver, offering a combination of comfort and tranquility.
