Nobody got it: England match to be replayed after rare penalty blunder

It may not have, obviously, the glamor of the FA Cup, but the FA Vase has been held annually under the auspices of the English Football Association for over half a century, being an important event for the teams of low categories on the Island.

However, there are also eutrapelas, such as the one that brought the decision to repeat the match between Widdenso and Holker Old Boys! You see, after the 2-2 between the two teams, the latter prevailed 4-3 on penalties, having a player extra due to suspension.

Due to this fact, the Old Boys had to declare a footballer who he would not undertake to take a penalty during the process and chose their goalkeeper.

However, what the winners’ people and neither did the referee realize is that the declared player he should not participate at all in the soul-destroying process!

Somehow, the result was deemed a no-go, with the FA ordering the match to be played again on 1 November. On Holker’s part, displeasure was expressed at the fact that they involved while they simply followed the referee’s order, who obviously did not remember what exactly applies in these cases…
