Half but… enough Panathinaikos broke out in Prometheus before the “devil’s week”

Grant tied it with a shot from close range (5-5), with Osman hitting two shots to make it 7-5. Yurtseven and McCallum traded baskets from close range (9-7), before Shorts hit a classic mid-range shot to make it 11-7. McCallum cut it with a layup on the spur of the moment (11-9), with Gray tying it at 11-11 on another transition attack. THE Mitoglou won shots and put them (13-11), with Gray giving Prometheus the lead with back-to-back points (16-17). Mitoglou put the “greens” in front again with a difficult basket (18-17), while Makoura responded from the line for 18-19. After a foul on the home team’s rebound, Rob Gray made a layup (18-21), with Kouseloglou to reduce to 20-21 with follow.

Panathinaikos temporarily went ahead with a basket Yurtseven at the beginning of the second quarter (22-21), but Macura and Gray answered with three pointers for 22-27. Yurtseven gave a solution to the “greens” from close range (24-27), but Makura had time and managed to score for 24-29. Toliopoulos executed for three (61-39), with Bazina… rounding the difference to 20 points (61-41). Gray reduced the surprise with a basket (61-43), before Hammonds made it 61-46 with a long shot. Grant responded with a classic mid-range shot (63-46), with Mitoglou making it 65-46 with a follow-up. THE Basin put in a … juggling basket (65-48), with Hammonds and Mitoglou scoring from close range for 67-50. Grigonis took three shots and put them in (70-50), with Gray, Mitoglou and Makoura hitting consecutive three-pointers for 73-56. THE Grigonis made two more shots from the line (75-56), shaping the final score of the third quarter.

The fourth period started with the difference jumping to +27 thanks to his shots Yurtseven and consecutive 3-pointers by Shorts (83-56). THE Basin gave an offensive solution after time to Prometheus (83-58), before Hammonds reduced it to 87-63 with another three-pointer of his own. Macura also made a long shot (87-66), before scoring a layup on the spur of the moment for 87-68. Kalaitzakis, with a well-aimed shot, brought the difference back to exactly 20 points (88-68), while Grigonis made the final 91-70 with a three-pointer.
