Women’s National Team: Maltsi takes over as general manager

An iconic form of Women’s basketball joins the staff of the National team. OR Evina Maltsis assumes the position of general manager of the Greek team which in a few days begins its attempt at the EuroBasket 2027 qualifiers.

Maltsi is the top scorer in the history of the National team, while she was MVP at Eurobasket 2009, when Greece was fifth, and was a member of the team that finished fourth at Eurobasket 2017.

It is noted that in the role of assistant coach O. was added to the staff Nikos Kambourisson of the “honest giant” Argyris Kampouris, who until recently was a coach at Trikala Basket of the Elite League.

As expected, Petros Prekas remains in the position of first coach.

On November 12, the first “window” of the Women’s EuroBasket 2027 qualifying phase will open, with the Women’s National Team starting its journey from the indoor Lefkovrysi gymnasium in Kozani, where it will face Croatia (19.00, ERT).

The team’s path to qualifying for the tournament that will take place in the summer of 2027 in four countries (Belgium, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden) will begin with Petros Prekas at the top of the technical leadership.

Sofia Kligopoulou will continue to be on the staff of the representative group of Greece from the position of Director Of Team Operation of the Women’s National Team, and Evina Maltsi will be added who will assume the position of General Manager.
