‘This half-breed has no place at Bayern’: The suicide case that fired Boateng

by

THE Jerome Boateng had agreed to do his coaching internship alongside theVincent Kompany in Bayernhowever his plans “wrecked”. Angry demonstrations by Bavarian fans against the one-time club player and international defender forced him to resign.

The reason for the reactions is none other than… Boateng’s suspicious past. The summer of 2018while on vacation with the mother of his twin daughters, was accused of he violently beat her and bit her. The footballer was convicted of willful bodily harm and although he did not end up in prison, he was ordered to pay a heavy fine (€170,000) and was given a suspended sentence, but was forced to make a mandatory donation to charity.

The second incident, which made the atmosphere even heavier for Boateng, came to him February 2021when Kasia Lenhardt, a week after a public fight (on social media) with him, was found dead in her apartment. The death of the model from Poland was investigated by the authorities, however they concluded that it was a suicide and Boateng was not charged, with the case formally closed without criminal charges against him in March 2025.

Although Boateng walks freethe Bayern crowd never took kindly to the return to the club, which he served for a decade. “End violence against women. There is no place for misogyny at Bayern“, said some of the banners raised by the team’s fans expressing their complete opposition to the presence of Boateng on its bench.
