The statement of Alki Kynigakis: “I am especially happy to return to Olympiakos, the team where I took my first steps in swimming at the age of four. Although I didn’t actually get to wear the red and white cap then, as I didn’t participate in matches, Olympiacos was always in me. I remember my mother picking me up from school and us going straight to practice. I often fell asleep in the car on the way from Alimos to Piraeus, and when we arrived, I found it difficult to get into the water. However, these moments have remained engraved in me and were the beginning of a journey that brought me back here, to the port.
I am honored to have the opportunity to represent this great club and will give my best, on and off the water, to contribute to their success. With the big goal of the Los Angeles Olympic Games, I will continue to work hard every day, with dedication and love for the sport.”
