by

Midfielder Danilo, 21, from Palmeiras, was the main novelty of coach Tite’s list for three friendlies of the Brazilian team that will take place next month.

The player is one of the main highlights of the Libertadores champion since last season and receives his first opportunity in the national team.

“He’s a player we’ve been following. In a hall of 50 athletes or more, attention to new talents. This sequence of great Danilo games provided. We visited Palmeiras. We are looking for a series of important components”, he explained. Tite.

Brazil will enter the field against South Korea, on the 2nd. After that, they face Japan (6th). Another friendly was scheduled against Argentina (11), but the match was cancelled, according to the coordinator of national teams, Juninho Paulista. The idea is to keep the date, but face an African opponent.

In the list presented by Tite, there are eight attackers. Among them, Rodrygo, who last week was Real Madrid’s hero in qualifying for the Champions League final by scoring two goals in stoppage time against Manchester City. Gabriel Jesus was also called again.

This is the team’s penultimate call-up before the World Cup in Qatar in November. In September, Brazil will have two more commitments. A friendly against Mexico and the confrontation with Argentina in the Qualifiers. This is the game that was abandoned in September last year at Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo.

Anvisa inspectors entered the field after eight minutes and interrupted the match because four Argentine athletes (Emiliano Martínez, Emiliano Buendía, Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso) did not follow the protocols of the Covid-19 pandemic to enter Brazil.

The two countries asked FIFA for the points of the match, but the entity determined that they would face each other again.
