“Today, we pay tribute to the memory of our compatriots who resolutely shouted the big ‘NO’ to the fascist attack that sought to overthrow the national sovereignty of Greece.
In October 1940, defending our homeland, the Greeks fought with the utmost heroism, courage and self-sacrifice, managing to successfully repel the superior enemy.
At a time when the world is being attacked by an invisible enemy, taking thousands of lives every day, the unparalleled courage of the heroes of Greece, their deep faith in their own strengths and a supreme collective purpose can today serve as inspiration for our own lives. .
Only by saying NO to fear, populism and demagoguery, which are divisive and corrosive to society, can we save every single family, the Nation as a whole, and achieve the liberation of the country from the shackles of the pandemic, strictly observing all recommended measures.
It is time for everyone to make their own responsible choice for the good of a great and common goal, for the good of our people, as our fathers and grandfathers did many years ago, preventing the enemy from taking root in our Homeland. .
