The new second-generation AirPods Pro don’t appear to have built-in heart rate and temperature sensors.
The rumors were revealed by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. He said such a feature is unlikely to come any time soon.
“For the past few months, there have been rumors that this year’s model has the ability to detect the user’s heart rate and temperature. No features are said to appear in the 2022 update,” Gurman said in the latest newsletter. PowerOn.
He added that Apple is looking into both features, so you may not want to write it down just yet.
Last month, rumors from 52Audio said that the AirPods Pro2 can measure heart rate and temperature from inside the ear.
The report also claims that the AirPods Pro2 feature USB-C, an updated H1 chip, and Apple’s handy “Find My AirPods” feature.
It’s unclear which of these will be included in the final product to be announced later this year.
Since its release in 2019, the AirPods Pro haven’t undergone a major redesign, except for the new MagSafe charging case last fall.
Apple plans to release several new devices this fall and early 2023, including four iPhone 14 devices and three Apple Watches. An updated pair of AirPods Pro earphones is expected to be added to the list.
