There seem to be a lot of strange sights on Mars.

The latest disturbing images of the Red Planet show strange tangled objects lying in the dust.

If you saw the same thing on Earth, you’d think it was some kind of sea creature, a little rope, or even abandoned spaghetti.

This object was discovered by NASA’s Perseverance Rover, which has been exploring the surface of Mars since February 2021.

Experts’ best guess is that it’s a snippet from last year’s patience landing.

Rover has already uncovered other debris while orbiting Jezero Crater on Mars. Last month he noticed a small thermal blanket ending especially near a cliff.

Perseverance is currently looking for rock samples that can be sent back to Earth for analysis.

Over the years, Perseverance will collect and store up to 30 rock and soil samples, which will eventually be shipped to NASA on a one-way ticket.

Top speed is 152 meters per hour (about 0.1 mph). It is slower by Earth standards, but faster than its predecessor because it first passes through the Delta, then the shores of an ancient lake, and finally the rim of Jezero Crater.

Rover was able to return the sample as part of a planned joint mission between NASA and the European Space Agency in the 2030s.

“The scientists analyzing these samples are in school today, they may not have been born yet,” NASA scientist Ken Farley said last year.

NASA's Perseverance Mars rover took a self-portrait with an Ingenuity helicopter about 13 feet (3.9 meters) from the rover. This image was taken by the WATSON camera mounted on the Rover's robotic arm on April 6, 2021.

This space spaghetti image was taken from the front of the rover using the right front hazcam camera.

According to NASA, the image was taken at 16:56:25 mean local solar time on July 12, 2022 (Sol 495). However, the space agency has not commented on what the object is about.
