“Make Instagram Instagram again” – The head of Instagram answered the call
You are tired of opening Instagram and see a flood of videos in your feed? You are not alone.
Movement against the “TikToking” of the popular application a lot of users started, including famous ones like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner (both have over 600 million followers). “Make Instagram Instagram again” is the slogan used by users.
The weight of increasingly aggressive competition is being felt so much that it’s prompting parent Meta to rethink the ways it uses content, increasingly using artificial intelligence to recommend posts to Facebook and Instagram users.
The option to show more and more videos on the latter is not to everyone’s liking, and millions of users are asking the social network to stop copying TikTok. Users can sign a petition.
The head of Instagram responded (negatively) to the appeal Adam Mosery. “I have to be honest. I think a lot of (content) from Instagram will be video over time,” he said, according to the Wall Street Journal. “We have to evolve because the world is changing fast and we have to change with it” he insisted.
