Millions of Brits are facing roaming charges in Europe for the first time in four years since Brexit.

Roaming charges were banned in EU countries in 2017, but this no longer applies to UK customers.

So for those who use their data to navigate abroad or who want to post vacation photos to their Instagram story, how much do they have to pay?

Roaming charges for major service providers are as follows:

There are no changes for existing EE customers.

Customers can now use up to 50 GB of data per month (based on plan capacity) in the US “Europe area”.

However, people who sign new or renewed contracts after July 7 will face new rules.

EE charges these customers £2 per day to use their permits in the EU (excluding Ireland).

Long-term travelers can purchase a 30-day package. This may be cheaper.

O2 does not refund roaming charges.

However, the company will start charging European customers who use more than 25 GB of data per month.

After August 2, 2022, if you exceed this limit, you will be charged £3.50 per GB.

This change only affects customers with data limits greater than 25 GB.

As of July 1, 2022, Sam reduced the data limit in Europe from 20 GB per month to 12 GB. Since then, customers have started paying 0.3 pence per MB.

According to the company, this will further align Go Roam policies in Europe with Go Roam Around World rules.

Under the global policy, three users now receive free data, texts and calls to UK numbers when traveling to many destinations including the US, Australia and New Zealand.

But its European and world politics remain different.

Destinations around the world can’t use more than 12GB of data per month instead of charging.

Users can also send up to 5,000 text messages and call UK numbers for 3,000 minutes free of charge.

According to the company, the change in fair use policy is aimed at preventing users living abroad from using all three plans.

This was announced by three speakers : “The new fair use restrictions are more than enough for tourists to use their mobile phones as they would in the UK.”

Vodafone currently charges roaming fees to monthly customers who attend after August 11, 2021.

Travel to EU countries, including the Republic of Ireland, costs £2 per day.

Vodafone continues to offer plans that include SIM-only roaming on the new Vodafone EVO smartphones.

An 8 and 15 day roaming pass is also available from Vodafone for just £1 per day.

The free roaming that Tesco Mobile customers enjoy on their home-to-home contracts will not be available to new customers due to the reintroduction of roaming charges.

Starting in 2023, new signup and renewal customers will lose this benefit, but existing customers will continue to enjoy this bonus unless they upgrade their device or switch to a Sim-only contract.

Roaming charges are 10 pence per MB for data, 20 pence for text messages and 55 pence per minute for calls.

Giffgaff does not charge any roaming fees, but while in the EU there are restrictions on free data, calls and texts.

As of July 26, 2022, Giffgaff users will only be able to use up to 5 GB of data per month in the EU. If you exceed this level, you will be paid 10pMB.

“We have decided to reduce some of these costs so that we can provide members with at least 5 GB of roaming in the EU at no additional cost,” Giffgaff said in a statement on his website.

This change will come after the 2019 number shows that 90% of Giffgaff users use less than this number when roaming in the EU.
