About the “weapon” of the Greek Defense Industry in order to deal with drones, Babis Papaspyros, Brigadier General of the Air Force, spoke to SKAI and on the show “Newsroom”.

The visionary of the radar emphasized that it is a doppler technology and is 100% Greek in design and manufacture. “The rationale was to create a low-power radar that could provide protection in sensitive vital areas such as borders and military installations,” Mr. Papaspyros emphasized.

It can also be used to protect infrastructure such as airports, he added, however in recent years he emphasized that it has evolved.

This happened because of the drone threats we see in countries like Israel and India, explained Brigadier E.A. “It works best within residential areas with human and vehicle traffic. And so it evolved into a radar that detects low-flying targets,” he added.

The impressive thing is that it reveals a mini drone at a height of 2 – 5 meters above the ground and has already been fully tested.
