Adrenaline junkie with a passion for speed? We have bikes available.
Here are 4 great new motorcycles, 3 of which are fully electric.
Off-road vehicles, retro designs and futuristic bikes are available for test drive.
Initially, one of these will only be released in beta for 10 buyers to try and make sure the future model is drivable.
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP
Honda’s Top Dog is aimed squarely at adrenaline junkies with a passion for speed. The previous iteration was fast enough to defy the laws of physics, but has made significant improvements that deliver even better performance.
At its heart is the 1,000cc inline four-cylinder engine, which Honda says is more responsive at any speed thanks to higher mid-range torque and shorter gears. But until the engine clears its throat, even in first gear, it will be prohibitively fast.
Find the track, hit it and you’ll feel 215bhp at a blistering 14,500rpm.
Keeping it up is a series of flashy new electronics, including a launch control system and a 6-axis inertial measurement unit for added safety.
The bike’s systems are also unobtrusive and give the rider confidence until they intervene. £23,499, honda.co.uk
Can-Am Origin/Pulse
Can-Am, best known for its wacky dune buggies, is set to return to the motorcycle market with a futuristic-looking electric model.
The Origin is designed for both on- and off-road use, while the more urban Pulse is more suited to commuters.
Both should appeal to those with a sense of style thanks to their eye-catching designs with bright accents and sharp bodies.
The size and range of the battery are yet to be confirmed. Both are expected to go on sale in 2024.
Ark Vector Angel Edition
The Arc Vector seems to have been in development forever, but it will finally be released next month.
However, there is a small caveat. Only offer this bike as Angel Edition to 10 customers.
These 10 will be enrolled in the Arc Test and Development program to ensure that future Arc models are “ready for the open road.”
At the heart of the Vector Angel Edition is a 127-hp electric motor that delivers spectacular performance. But there is more to this bike than just speed.
Vector has a Wi-Fi helmet called Zenith that acts like a key, has voice-activated functions and includes video from the bike’s rear camera so you can see your missing Ferrari.
The bike also comes with a jacket that provides haptic feedback, including a tap on the shoulder to warn of impending danger. Starting at £110,000, arcvehicle.com
Maeve RM1
The RM1 may be the most stylish bike in the game. Created by Coventry-based Maeving, the ridiculously beautiful retro-modern design is sure to make your tongue tingle.
The RM1 is fully electric and uses a 5.9bhp 110cc equivalent electric motor. A top speed of 45mph isn’t amazing, but a healthy 160Nm of torque is perfectly on point, and its light weight aids in maneuverability and makes it easier to weave through traffic.
Maeving produces a limited edition model that can be worn by a 16 year old CBT. A smart removable battery is built into the chassis and can be charged from a regular outlet at home or in the office.
An optional secondary battery is available and can be stored in the tank space in front of the seat (when not in use, the USB charging port doubles as storage). Expect a range of 80 miles on both batteries. £4,995 from maeving.com
