From AUTH the first Greek telemedicine platform in ophthalmology

It is an innovative telemedicine platform for the self-assessment that can be done by partially sighted people, with the parallel transfer of the result to the attending physician. The purpose is to inform the doctor about early changes that may indicate a progression of the condition.

The first Greek application of telemedicine in ophthalmology, created in the context of the “Low Vision Assistance Program” of the Department of Medicine, AUTH, will be presented in the context of the “Hellenic Conference on Low Vision with International Participation”.

It is an innovative telemedicine platform for the self-assessment that can be done by partially sighted people, with the parallel transfer of the result to the attending physician. The purpose is to inform the doctor about early changes that may indicate a progression of the condition.

The conference will take place September 17-18 at KEDEA (arrival time 9:30 am) within the framework of the “Low Vision Assistance Program” which, in addition to the telemedicine and self-assessment platform, also includes the application of visual and electronic aids for the partially sighted .

The conference will present the latest developments in the possibilities of assisting low vision, the latest developments in international research on diseases that cause low vision, treatment prospects and demonstration of applications of aids.
