Flippy 2, guided by cameras and artificial intelligence, takes frozen French fries and other food out of the freezer, dips them in hot oil, then deposits the ready-to-serve product on a tray
The time when robots will have taken over all manual work, at all levels and professions, is not as far away as we think.
The company Miso Robotics Inc created robots, which fry potatoes and many other foods that are consumed in fast food stores and even do it faster than humans, reducing the time of delivery of the dish and of course the cost for the respective company.
The Flippy 2 robot, which automates the process of frying potatoes, onions and other foods, resembles the arm used in the vehicle industry.
Guided by cameras and artificial intelligence, it takes frozen French fries and other food out of the freezer, dips them in hot oil, then deposits the ready-to-serve product on a tray.
The Flippy 2 it can cook multiple meals with different recipes at the same time, reducing the need for personal catering and speeding up order delivery.
“When an order comes through the restaurant system, it automatically broadcasts the instructions to Flippy,” Miso CEO Mike Bell said in an interview. “He does it faster or more accurately, more reliably and more happily than most people do,” added Bel.
The question that arises, of course, is this: What will become of all these people who work in the big food chains?
