One month away from Black Friday, which takes place this year on November 25, Brazilian consumers are already researching the products they intend to buy in promotions. The wish list is dominated by electronics.

According to a Google survey released this Tuesday (25), 86% of people who plan to take advantage of the offers scheduled for the last week of November are interested in purchasing video game consoles and games. The category dominates searches, followed by cell phones (85%), TVs (83%), and computers, tablets and peripherals (80%).

The survey was carried out by the research company Offerwise, at the beginning of October, and had the participation of 500 Brazilians from classes A, B and C who declared that they knew about Black Friday.

The survey also asked consumers which products they plan to buy in popular categories. Among small appliances, the darling is the Airfryer, with 56% declaring an interest in taking one home.

The deep fryer is a favorite in all three social classes. In clipping A and B, 65% of respondents placed the item at the top of purchase intentions. The electric cooker appears in second place, desired by 39%, followed by the vacuum cleaner (37%).

For the C class, the Airfryer is also a favorite, but the proportion is smaller. Nearly half (49%) of consumers want to buy a deep fryer this year’s Black Friday. In second place appears the category of grill and sandwich maker (38%), followed by mixer and blender (35%).

In the case of home appliances, the highlights are stove and cooktop, desired by 44% of respondents, followed by microwave (40%) and refrigerator (38%).

According to the survey, 6 out of 10 consumers are already researching the items on their wish list, but haven’t hit the hammer yet.

“The survey shows that up to half of consumers have not yet defined anything about the items they intend to purchase, such as brand, model or where to buy, opening a great opportunity for companies to anticipate this conversation”, says, in a note, Gleidys Salvanha, director for Google Brazil Retail.

World Cup is a bet

At the end of September, a survey by Google and the Ipsos Institute had pointed out that most Brazilians intend to buy on Black Friday 2022.

After two editions of the pandemic, 71% of consumers declared an interest in taking home items during this year’s mega-promotions, up 16 percentage points from last year. One of the reasons given is the proximity of the World Cup.

The survey released this Tuesday brought more details on how the shopping journey should be during the World Cup. According to the survey, 26% of consumers say they should buy food, 25% will buy drinks, 19% want to take clothes and accessories home and 17% will invest specifically in sportswear.

Although some respondents have already purchased products thinking about preparing for the games, most declare that they will wait for the date to purchase more expensive items, especially appliances (93% of respondents) and TVs (92%).
