The platform says 300 accounts made more than 50,000 tweets in a “coordinated attempt to trick users into believing the company has changed its content policy.”
Twitter has been hit by a concerted “trolling” campaign in the wake of its takeover by Elon Muskwith more than 50,000 tweets from 300 accounts bombarding the platform with hateful content.
The social media platform said it has been targeted and tried to trick users into believing Twitter has abandoned or weakened its content policies since the company was bought by the world’s richest man for $44 billion last week.
Our Rules prohibit Hateful Conduct. This includes targeting people with dehumanizing content and slurs.
This DOESN’T mean we have a list of words that are always banned. Context matters. For example, our policies are written to protect reclaimed speech. https://t.co/QopEaTwxaX

Twitter’s head of security said those who run the site have not changed their content policies, but have undergone “an organized effort to make people believe we have.”
Musk’s acquisition of Twitter has many worried, including many celebrities, that the multi-billionaire, who says he is a “total supporter of free speech,” will relax content policies and bring back banned accounts like these controlled by former US President Donald Trump and Katie Hopkins, the right-wing British political commentator.
Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.

Shonda Rhimes, the TV producer behind “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Bridgerton,” appeared to leave the platform on Saturday, telling her 1.9 million followers that she’s “not staying here for what Elon has planned.” .
In addition to stressing that there has been no change to Twitter’s content policies, Musk announced the creation of a “content moderation board.” He said the new body would bring together “very diverse views” and that no decisions would be made about content policy or account reinstatement without a council first.
Musk also said that Twitter could be split into different sections, where users would rate content on their posts and engage in online debates in a specially designed space on the platform.
The billionaire, who has more than 100 million followers on the platform, said users could choose a version of Twitter like they choose a movie based on its content rating.
