Google Maps will show wheelchair accessible spots

Google announces a new wheelchair accessible service and ramp notification.

A new application to the popular service Google Maps Google announced. Through maps, the online services giant provides valuable information to people in wheelchairs.

The new Google Maps service works both on devices with an operating system Android as well as iOS devices. Called ‘Accessible Places’, it provides information about places that are accessible to wheelchairs as well as information about the existence of a ramp. With the service enabled, Google Maps users can search for areas such as restaurants, shopping centers or hotels and, if they offer wheelchair access, will see a relevant icon on the business tab, as well as additional information such as availability parking spaces, toilets, etc. for people with disabilities.

To filter search results for accessible places, you will need to adjust your accessibility settings. On a phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app. Tap your profile picture or first letter of your name, then go to Settings and Accessibility Settings. Turn on the Accessible Places option. Wheelchair accessible places show a wheelchair icon in the results.
