Hubert H. Lee is expected to leave his design stamp from the S24 and Z6 series onwards

His appointment Hubert H. Lee as head of the Mobile eXperience (MX) design team, which is responsible for the design of its mobile phones, announced Friday Samsung. These include the Galaxy S series flagships, the company’s Z series foldable phones, the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Watch.

Before Hubert H. Lee joined the South Korean group he was its chief design officer Mercedes-Benz in China. “His unique vision and perspective will help shape the look and feel of Galaxy smartphones, building on the distinct design ethos that users know and love,” Samsung announced.

“Samsung is known for making some of the world’s most beautiful products with designs that have transformed the mobile industry,” said Hubert H. Lee himself, “I’m excited to join a company at the forefront of innovation on mobile phones and I lead the team responsible for creating new experiences for mobile devices through the art of design.”

Lee is expected to leave his design stamp from the S24 and Z6 series onwards, as the design on the S23 and Z5 series has been finalized with the launch of the new S24 series expected in early February.

Although current mobile design doesn’t allow for radical changes, as the front is essentially a big screen, Samsung’s new design chief could make changes in the details, and the details often make the difference.
