In particular, Musk considered that we should be much more concerned with the issue of “population collapse”, ie a rapid decline in the total number of people living on the planet. On this, he made a series of tweets, saying:

Musk then cited two articles, one pointing to a 4% drop in fertility in 2020, a new negative record, and the second being a BBC report indicating a “crash” in global fertility.
