Panaitolikos beat Olympiakos and put it in trouble!

Terrible Panetolikos, they also knew him Olympic. Three days after the victory over AEK, he overthrew Piraeus, prevailing 2-1 in Agrinio, showing his determination to “hit” qualification to the semifinals of the Cup.

The “red and whites”, who lined up with several changes, opened the score at 13’ with its projection El Arabi from Valbouena crosses, but the hosts brought the match to a halt. Brusai and Valbouena were on the wings, with the latter converging considerably, while El Arabi played at the top.

The match

Nice game with “good morning”. With a good rhythm (not so common for a Greek game) from the beginning and several phases throughout the first part. The first good moment took place in the 2nd minute and it was from Panaitolikos, who came out quickly against, with Mendoza coming in with a fora from the appearance in OAKA and sharing for Duarte, who did not manage to execute from a shooting position, I love Xenitidis.

The good circulation of the ball by Olympiakos in the 8th minute did not work, as Karbovnik, having enough space in front of him, made poor control. Piraeus started to roll aggressively and had a chance in the 11th minute, with El Arabi leaving vertically, but with his control he allowed Anestis to close the field, while Valbouena then entered the phase, but this once the 30-year-old goalkeeper scored the ball.

The third was also a pharmacist from Olympiacos. After a good circulation of the ball, with Broussai, El Arabi, Androutsos and Valbouena, the Frenchman scored sweetly for the Moroccan, who found nets with projection. Shortly after, Valbouena’s new collaboration with the 35-year-old forward, through a corner kick, the latter had a chance for 0-2 with a header, but was sent off by Anestis. Panaitolikos’s answer to the guests was given their goal for 10 minutes.

Duarte came out on Bagaliani’s back and sent the ball to the crossbar, while along the way, the ball reached Mendoza, who executed Christinson with his right hand. Earlier, Vergos protested for a penalty in a strong marking of Ba. It seemed to be within the permissible limits. Olympiakos tried for a new lead until the break, but its efforts remained incomplete and Panaitolikos almost lost again. With Vergos emptying Ba and then, while he was facing the hearth, he fell to the ground after the duel with Papadopoulos, but it seemed that the Greek striker was going on the experienced stopper and not the opposite happening.

Olympiakos entered the second half better, having two chances with Tikinios in the first quarter. In the first (52 ‘) Anestis drove to a corner, while in the second (59’) the Brazilian missed from a good position. Panaitolikos found the goal in its first good moment after the break, with Mendoza sharing extremely well for Karelis, who exposed the defense of Olympiakos with his speed and executed Christinson.

His team almost responded directly Martins, with Lopez in position to shoot, but the ball countered his powerful shot and went sideways. In fact, this was the last good moment for Olympiakos to equalize. He did not have such a good moment until the final. Panaitolikos celebrated in 67 ‘the 3-1, but did not do it, since Vergos’s shot sent the ball into the net. It was, however, little exposed.

The hosts gave measures to the “red and whites” then, launching medical counterattacks, Anastasiou shielded his center with Flores, while Martins tried to make his team more aggressive, putting Lovera instead of Papadopoulos. However, he did not get much from the Argentine. Tikinios’ header in the 87th minute was a blow and Panaitolikos reached a great victory.

MVP: Executioner of AEK, but also of Olympiakos, Mendoza. With a few days difference, Panaitolikos overthrew the Union and Piraeus, with the Argentine having goals and assists in both matches. Words are unnecessary…
