The first crew of tourists has successfully made its space flight aboard Virgin Galactic’s Unity spacecraft.

On board were 80-year-old British Olympian John Goodwin, who paid $250,000 for his ticket, and two Caribbean women, a mother and daughter: who won free tickets in a competition.

The spaceship Unity detaches from the plane carrying it and sends the three space tourists on a short but unforgettable pleasure trip above the Earth.

Its passengers include 80-year-old retiree and British Olympian John Goodwin, who paid $250,000 for his ticket in 2005. But also two Caribbean women, mother and daughter: 46-year-old Kisa Shahaf and 18-year-old Anastasia Myers, who won for free the tickets in a competition.

For a few minutes they experience zero gravity and the passengers “fly” above their seats

The flight reached about 88 kilometers above the Earth, where the passengers had a few minutes to experience the weightlessness, with a total flight time of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Russia’s first mission to the Moon in almost 50 years is a reality.

The Soyuz rocket carrying the Luna-25 spacecraft blasts off at 02:10 a.m. amid smoke and flames from the Vastotsny Cosmodrome in the Russian Far East.

The lander will be placed in orbit within five days, while three to seven days will be needed to select the appropriate landing site, in the region of the Moon’s south pole.

Luna-25 is expected to stay on the Moon for a year to collect soil samples and do long-term scientific research.
