Nafpaktos will visit the world’s first robot with a passport, named sophia the robot in order to participate in a separate panel on Artificial Intelligence & Ethics.

As stated in a related announcement, at the conference, participants from 6 states will analyze together, with Sophia the robot, important aspects related to the coexistence of humans and Artificial Intelligence.

In particular, the “Meet Sophia Conference” will take placeon March 10 at the Nafpaktos International Conference Center, which is co-located with the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior, in Skala Nafpaktia.

At the same time, the conference will explore the effect of Artificial Intelligence on ethical issues, from the protection of privacy to the safeguarding of justice and the values ​​of the human species.

Techno-ethics is a branch of Applied Philosophy and a field of interdisciplinary study and research, with the main subject being the relationship between technological development and the values ​​of modern society. The event will take place in the presence of 150 guests, while there will be no access to the general public.

Sophia is one social humanoid robot developed by the Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics company, while its rights for Greece are held by Victorious Network.

It was activated on February 14, 2016 and made its first public appearance in mid-March 2016. It has met with heads of state, important personalities and has also given interviews to the biggest television networks on the planet.
