Artificial Intelligence “imagined” what the Hagia Sophia of 560 AD would have looked like in all its imperial glory, crowded, illuminated, with the emperor and courtiers
Time travel? Artificial Intelligence “turns” us to Hagia Sophia of 560 AD. In the shots created by the Artificial Intelligence, it “imagined” how the Hagia Sophia of 560 AD would have been in all its glory in a liturgical service, crowded, illuminated, with the emperor and courtiers majestically dressed. And yet these few shots of technology, which are certainly unimaginably inferior to the reality at the time, are awe-inspiring.
Hagia Sophia or Hagia Sophia functioned as a Christian temple from 537 AD until 1453. It was then converted into an Islamic mosque and later (from 1935) into a museum. From 2020, following the decision of the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which caused a lot of reactions, it functions again as a mosque.
The construction of the present temple, dedicated to the Wisdom of God, started in 532 by the Asia Minor engineers Anthemius and Isidore. Hagia Sophia was inaugurated on December 27, 537 during the reign of Justinian I.
