Artificial intelligence is bringing a lot of changes to our lives and it is an area that is expected to radically change the automotive industry.. Already in recent years, it has penetrated the technology of cars, as it takes initiatives in driving and often gets the driver out of a difficult moment.

Artificial intelligence has slowly entered our lives in recent years. We have gradually seen cars connect to the internet in order to make the life of the driver and passengers easier and more fun. But mainly to provide solutions in difficult moments, during driving, helping the driver to make decisions with the aim of increasing safety. Most cars are now equipped with sensors and systems that correct driver errors. This technology will be further developed and combined with AI, there will be a great reduction in road accidents. For example automatic emergency braking is a driver assistance system, which will be able to prevent two cars from colliding. Artificial intelligence plays an important role in this, which analyzes the data surrounding the car at every moment.

Artificial intelligence creates a new communication system between cars (V2V) and infrastructure (V2I), through which useful information will be exchanged and corrective actions will be taken automatically. The vehicle will be able to analyze some data on the fly. Like for example predicting when a traffic light will be red or green, adjusting the speed or getting information from another car 800 meters ahead on the same road about the road condition. Artificial intelligence is also seen in parking, where many cars now find their parking space by themselves and park automatically without the driver’s involvement.

Something that worries drivers today is the blind spots every time we change lanes. This concern will soon be a thing of the past, as the vehicle’s own cameras will act as radars and create a safety zone, giving the corresponding information to the driver, but mainly taking initiatives for the benefit of safety.

Finally, artificial intelligence will also take autonomous driving to new levels. It is a bet by the automotive industry, which promises trouble-free and accident-free driving in the future. Today there is caution about safety, but soon – as everything shows – autonomous driving will become so safe that the driver will get into a car and go to his destination while drinking coffee or reading the news on the Internet…
