For its development planning National Center for Research and Technological Developments, about its partnerships with the international industry as well as about the research activity of its institutes, the representatives of the research center informed the Deputy Minister of Development Zoi Rapti during her visit today to its facilities in Thermi.
The central theme of the meeting that the Deputy Minister had with EKETA executives was the emphasis that it places on the essential and efficient connection of research with the market, which is demonstrated by the significant economic activity recorded by its 23 companies – its techno-offshoots to date. through the commercial exploitation of cutting-edge technologies and the creation of added value.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of Pragma IoT and Optimems Smart Energy Solutions, its spin-offs SIXTY.
Ms. Rapti, with the autonomous vehicle of the Institute of Sustainable Mobility and Transport Networks, moved to its premises and visited the FabLab.
There, Boston Dynamics’ four-legged robot, which has applications in inspection and monitoring, industries, infrastructure and transportation, was demonstrated. A little later, he saw up close the Live Data and Services Management Laboratory, where he was informed about the traffic on the streets of Thessaloniki and the dynamic car driving simulator.
At the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INEB) he had the opportunity to learn about the actions related to advanced research in the life sciences, modern diagnostics and the utilization of biodata both for research purposes and for the promotion of health services, while he then visited the Active building facility , Sustainable Energy Research and Application Infrastructure – Stavros Niarchos Foundation – SNF and in the heavy-duty vehicle dynamometer infrastructure, unique in Greece, for the evaluation of alternative fuels and the development of new anti-pollution technologies.
The Deputy Minister was guided to the High Altitude Laboratory of the Institute of Chemical Processes and Energy Resources (IDEP) and was informed about the modern challenges in the field of clean energy with hydrogen technologies, carbon dioxide capture and the materials that contribute to these technologies.
