With a serious complaint through X, Elon Musk responded to the Commission’s accusations that the social network he owns violates its obligations for transparency in relation to advertisements and access in the platform data for the researcherss.

As the tycoon specifically mentions in his post:

“The European Commission offered 𝕏 a illegal collusion: if we quietly censored the (free) speech without telling anyone, we wouldn’t be fined.

Musk comments on a statement by the European Commissioner for Competition Margaret Vestager.

According to the Commission’s opinion, X “cheats” its users and violates the rules of the European Union with the “blue checkmarks” that are supposed to certify the reliable sources of information. The opinion that paves the way in the imposition of heavy fines.

“X now has the right to defend itself, but if our view is confirmed, we will impose fines and demand significant changes,” warned the European Commissioner for Digital Economy Thierry Breton.

The tycoon quotes another response to the Commission, commenting “exactly”:

“They are NOT researchers. They are censorship activities and political agents. That was their plan all along — to use the DSA (Digital Services Act) to force X to re-staff the censorship department he fired when Elon took over.”
