“I would like to announce that at least 97% of PCs running Windows are back online as of July 25th. This progress is due to the tireless efforts of our customers, our partners, and the dedication of our team at CrowdStrike,” said head of the American cyber security agency, George Kurtz, in a message made public on the LinkedIn social network yesterday, Thursday, evening.

In a report on the incident, CrowdStrike said Wednesday that the bug had spread to millions of PCs running Windows and that it would change the way it handles upgrades in the future.
“Due to a bug in the verification program, one of the two upgrades was validated even though it contained problematic data,” CrowdStrike explained.
Many large organizations and businesses were affected, mainly airlines, hospitals, factories or even hotels.
The head of CrowdStrike, George Kurzwas summoned by the US Congress to explain.
“We understand that our work is not yet done and we remain determined to restore all systems,” he said in his LinkedIn message.
