This engine is expected to greatly improve spacecraft speeds – Will be used in 2026 missions
Just a few weeks after testing the giant rocket booster, the SpaceX is preparing to test a new engine, the most powerful ever created by man.
According to the company and NASA, this engine will play a key role in Artemis programwhich involves the creation of a human colony on the Moon and subsequently on the planet Mars.
The test will take place at its space facilities Brownville, Texas.
This engine is intended to be used in missions to the Moon in 2026 and is estimated to greatly improve the speeds of spacecraft and by extension contribute to the time decompression of missions to the Earth’s physical satellite.
According to the program, at Moon all required materials for base construction will be transported to the surface. The next phase involves manned flights to the moon and installation of a team of scientists and technicians at the base that will be created.
