You do not need to completely cut technology as long as you use it consciously! Start with minor changes and you will see how calmer, happy and productive you will feel.

What is Digital Detox and why do you need it?

A digital detox means that you are consciously moving away from screens for a certain period of time to reconnect with yourself and the real world. The benefits are many:

Stress decreases and your mood improves.
You sleep better, as the blue light of the screens affects your sleep.
Your relationships improve, because you spend more time around the people around you.
Your productivity is increasing as continuous distractions are reduced.

5 steps for a successful Digital Detox

1. Close notifications

Alerts from social media, email and applications make us constantly check your cellphone. Turn them off and you’ll see the difference right away!

2. Set hours strictly without screen

Try not using your cellphone one hour before bedtime and one hour after awakening. So you will start and close your day calmer.

3. Find alternative activities

Instead of endlessly scrolling on Instagram, try reading a book, go for a walk or try a new hobby.

4. Defined ‘Screen -free zones’

You can define some places, such as the dining table or the bedroom, where the use of a mobile phone will be prohibited. This will improve the quality of time you spend with your family or partner.

5. One day without any display

Try once a week to leave the cellphone aside for a few hours or even the whole day. You will feel more free and present at the moment.
