The Bible tells the story of a biblical Jewish king who died in the hands of an Egyptian Pharaoh in the battle of Armageddon, and now scientists have brought to light new archaeological widespread, which may prove that the biblical battle was truly a historical event.

The word Armageddon in Hebrew means “Mount of Megiddou” – a city that was on the territory of ancient Israel in today’s Palestinian territories. According to John’s Revelation, Megiddou is the biblical site of the final, a purification of the good of the good with the evil.

In an ancient Lyiddou location – where the Scripture says that the last king of the Jews, Josia, was killed in 609 BC by the Egyptian soldiers of Pharaoh Neho II in the battle of Armageddon – archaeologists discovered buried ruins and vases.

Although most of the Biblical Megiddo had been excavated since 1920, there was a point that had not yet been investigated. At this site, archaeologists found a multitude of Egyptian pottery, specifically from the Nile Valley, and explain their presence there as proof that the Neho army had brought them.

Assaf Kleiman, a co-researcher from the University of Haifa, said in the Daily Mail: “These are not decorated tableware representatives of the time and the Jewish tradition. It is therefore very difficult to argue that someone in Megidou, a displaced or surviving Israelite, suddenly gained interest in the inferior Egyptian pottery and decided to introduce them to his home. ”

In addition, the analysis of the objects showed that the building that was excavated was built around the middle of the seventh century BC, shortly before Neho killed Josiah.

According to the Scriptures, Josia was killed by Neho when he went to join his forces with Assyria after the fall of the Assyrian capital Nineveh to the Babylonians. Until recently, scientists had not found any archaeological elements to support the story of the death of the last king of the Jews.

Although these new archaeological finds do not reveal much about the details of the death of Josiah, they still show Pharaoh Neho’s military presence in Armageddon at that time, bringing experts one step closer to understanding what happened in the Biblical Battle.
