Baidu deposits a patent for technology that decodes pet sounds, turning them into comprehensible words through AI and data analysis
Baidu, the technological colossus responsible for the development of the largest search engine in China, has made a revolutionary move by submitting a patent to decode the sounds of our pets.
Its purpose is to convert cats’s “moans” and dog bark into understandable words, using data analysis technology and artificial intelligence.
The patent, released last week, belongs to Baidu and aims to develop a system that will decode animal sounds, taking into account vocal data, behavioral patterns and normal signals. The analysis will be done by an AI machine, which will determine the animal’s emotional state and connect these emotions with corresponding concepts, turning them into human language to better understand what the pet is trying to express.
A Baidu spokesman told CGTN News: “There is a great deal of interest in submitting our patent request.” At the same time, he stressed that the project is still in the research phase and that the new system would provide “deeper emotional communication and understanding between humans and animals, improving the accuracy and effectiveness of two -way communication”.
Baidu is one of the first companies in China to invested significantly in artificial intelligence, especially after the release of Chatgpt by Openai in 2022. Also, many other companies around the world work in the effort to translate animal voice expressions, an issue that has been concerned with people here and many years.
Only with the latest technology developments, pet owners can now hope that they will be able to better understand the feelings and needs of their favorite animals.
