Significant international distinction for the Technical University of Crete and the Greek scientific community was achieved by the teacher Elia Psylaki of the School of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineers, taking the Robert Kellner Lecture Award 2025 At the International Congress Euroanalysis 2025 hosted in Barcelona. This is one of the most important European discrimination in its field Chemistry.

This award honors the leading European scientists who have substantially contributed to the promotion of research or education in analytical chemistry over the last five years. It was established by the Division of Analytical Chemistry of the European Chemical Societies, in memory of Professor Robert Kellner at the Vienna Technology University and is awarded every two years, after a strict process of selection of navigation from every European country.

The important contribution of Elias Psylakis to Analytical Chemistry

This year, the committee decided to honor the teacher Elia Psylakias typically stated in the award announcement, “For its important research contributions in the last five years, especially with regard to the theory, practice and impact of green analytical chemistry and green sampling”. The selection is between top scientists with international recognition in the field of analytical chemistry.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first time this distinction has been awarded to Professor of University of Greece, which is a special honor for both the Institution of the Technical University of Crete as well as for the country as a whole. Through this award, the influential presence of the Greek academic community on the international research scene is highlighted in an area directly related to the protection of health and the environment.
