The Science in the City Science and Technology Center, operating in the Old Town of Rethymnon, offers activities focusing on students of all levels of education. The creation of the Center is the result of the collaboration of the Laboratory of Teaching Sciences (EDPE) of the Department of Primary Education (PTDE) of the University of Crete and the Department of Education of the Municipality of Rethymnon. The center is housed in the former Library area, 24 Agia Varvara Street. There are exploratory activities related to Stem trainingutilizing modern technologies such as tablets, cell phones, virtual reality glasses, interactive table and educational robotics. These activities are designed by undergraduate, postgraduate students and doctoral candidates of the University of Crete, in the context of research work. They are mainly aimed at students who visit the site on predetermined days and hours each week. For the school year 2025-2026, “Science in the City” will welcome pupils and students from all levels of education (elementary, high school, high school) every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
