The services of ELTA were completely restored after the cyber attack

The Hellenic Post announces the full restoration of all their services for their customers and the public after the cyber attack they received on March 20th.

The ELTA network now offers all commercial, financial and postal services. In the last few hours, the possibility of sending and receiving items abroad was restored, a service which remained the last pending in the process of restoring the company’s systems. Customers can follow the progress of all shipments that have taken place after March 20, through the Track & Trace system at the website www.elta.gr.

Also, from Monday, according to the announcement of the company, transactions are carried out normally through the Eurobank network, as well as remittances by check or the Western Union network.

“It is worth clarifying that ELTA received one of the most serious attacks that a Greek group and especially a public company has suffered. Nevertheless, the company fully recovered, achieving a perfect technical response and a performance equal to that of multinational groups. “Complete recovery was achieved in a time that is below the average of international data for similar incidents, while it is noted that most services were restored much earlier,” the company notes.

An important role in the recovery process was played by the internal crisis management team, the competent executives and the assistance of the external collaborators of ELTA (including IT scientists and specialized organizations) who assisted in the restoration of the systems and their safe re-operation.

“ELTA demands the public’s understanding for any malfunction caused in the past and assure that the return is made with even better, more reliable and safer services, at the same time with the renewal of equipment and the creation of new safety valves,” the company said in a statement.
