At the finish line to complete the design of the Artemis programwhich includes the mission of astronauts to the Moon, is now NASA’s plan, which presented a draft of 50 high-level objectives, asking companies, academics and organizations for proposals for their specialization.

The 50 targets fall into four general categories of exploration, including transport and housing. Also included is infrastructure design on the Moon and Mars, required functions, and scientific fields. Proposals must be submitted by Tuesday 31 May.

“The feedback we receive on the goals we have set will update our plans for exploring the Moon and Mars for the next 20 years.”, said Deputy Managing Director Pam Melroy.

“These targets will lead us to our first analog mission to Mars and prepare us for the first human mission to the surface of the Red Planet,” said Jim Free, co-managing director of the Exploration Systems Development Mission. “After reviewing the comments-proposals on the goals, we will work with our partners to discuss the data and complete our framework this fall,” he added.
