New provocative statements against the Greek side were made today by the Minister of Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, accusing Greece that “repeatedly [και] constantly makes provocations, aggressive statements and actions that increase the tension and, in violation of international law, distorts the facts and misleads.
“With selfish statements she tries to promote herself,” he added.
He even claimed that through these actions, the Greeks “are trying to show that they are victims as if there is some move that Turkey will make against Greece, as if there is an attack by Turkey.”
“It simply came to our notice then. They are trying to show that Greece is the victim and Turkey is the attacking country. “But history and current developments clearly show that they are the ones who have an expansionist and aggressive policy,” Akar said.
Finally, regarding the refugee-immigration, the Turkish Minister of Defense stated that “the efforts of the Greek Coast Guard to pierce the inflatables of innocent defenseless people in the middle of the sea, as well as to shoot them, this is really a great crime against of humanity”.
“It is unconscious, we can not understand it. But he is sorry if we see it. “In such a climate, to distort the facts and attack Turkey is unethical, it is not legal,” he said.
