A 25-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the brutal murder of an elderly guest at a homeless shelter where the couple were together.
Jordan Graham, whose address has not been determined, was charged in September 2020 at Hackney Hostel, a hostel for 69-year-old Abu Yusuf Towaha in east London.
Tvaha was taken to a hospital where doctors found bleeding in the brain.
They tried to treat his wound, but he died last February.
Prosecutors described the attack as a “barbaric” and “unprovoked” attack that lasted several minutes.
Graham has previously pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm.
He pleaded guilty to the murder at a hearing at the Old Bailey on Monday.
The defendant was scheduled to be sentenced on July 11 and is still in custody.
