THE Belarus will perform mobilization exercises of its armed forces in June and July in Gomel regionas broadcast yesterday, Monday, the state news agency BelTA.
The said region is located on the border of Belarus and borders Ukraine to the south and with areas of the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl area. To the east, it borders Russia.
From June 22nd to July 1st, scheduled exercises will be held with participation of military administrations and formationsas reported by the state news agency BelTA, citing Andrei Krivonosov, military commissar of the Gomel region.

From June 28th to July 16th, exercises will be held at the level of regional defense formations.
Belarus is close ally of Russiawhile announcing in March that its military forces do not take part in what Moscow calls “Special military operation” in Ukraine, but was a springboard for Russia to invade Ukrainian territory on 24 February.
